Completely sleepless, on a Jens kick (his brand of dreamy love songs are great for insomnia). I’m a big old romantic at heart. What’s life without it? Whether that’s found on a sunday stroll, a night out, in morning tangles, etc. Best feel good out there.

I’ll always stand by the fact that Brandon Flowers is one of the greatest lyricists of our time. All the lyrics are bizarre and a bit like a surreal dream, but isn’t that what makes them sound gorgeous rolling off his tongue?

(PS: This venue was gorgeous in person! Just stunning. In the Bronx, of all places.)

I saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll laugh at myself in a few years time for liking hair bands, but I really genuinely love this little session done by Veronica Falls in Porto. Vive la twenties.

Completely tickled pink about the Sondre Lerche gig I get to go to next month at Lincoln Center.

It’s going to be the man of the hour & a proper string quartet in one of the most famous jazz venues of all time.

Doesn’t get much better in my book.

One of those nights I’m sure I’ll remember forever. Signified some ends & beginnings; and foreshadowed others..

I kinda started to resent Jens Lekman for a hot minute, I hated that he was the soundtrack to so many of my romances (haha, well — I don’t know about “many”, but those in recent history..) and I hated that each song of his held a memory for me. I hated that when this guy I was seeing for a bit said “Oh, I don’t really like his music anymore..” it was really an implication that he didn’t really like me anymore. I’ve put all of that to rest, and all sentimentality aside - his music is really just quite nice. And no sour experience is really going to change that for me, I think.

it’s not unfamiliar ground for me.

back when he had hair! if this doesn’t make you crack a little grin, you haven’t got a heart.

(i do listen to things other than jens lekman, i swear..)

you can’t..

EW

Equal parts curiousity & nostalgia, shaken and double strained - not stirred. Generally have a tune stuck in my head, nine times out of ten it was made before I was born. Advertising/Media (but not an Ann Paul Veal) hog. I just wasn't made for these times, but god only knows what I'd be without digital.
